How Druzy Quartz forms ~
Druzy quartz has occurred on chalcedony. Druzy quartz occurs from repeating evaporation of silica-rich waters on the surface of an existing stone, rather forming directly. The coating is made of quartz. The sparkle which is the druzy surface, created by tons of reflected light as the stone is moved..The coating itself is crystallized quartz in a tiny form. It can form on the surface of other crystals, as inside in nodules of other materials or the seams between stone layers underground. This coating takes millions of years to form, the silica deposits continuously re-crystallize on the surface of the stone.
